The 10,000th heliostat of the 100MW solar thermal power station in Bortala Prefecture of Xinhua Power Generation Co., Ltd. was successfully assembled and rolled off the production line

On April 13, 2025, the 100,000-kilowatt thermal energy storage solar thermal power project with a supporting 900,000-kilowatt new energy project (referred to as the “Bole Project”) of Xinhua Hydropower Co., Ltd., which is under the PC general contracting of the solar thermal power station by Hengji Nengmai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Gansu Installation and Construction Group Co., Ltd., reached a milestone – the 10,000th heliostat of the 100,000-kilowatt solar thermal power station was successfully assembled and off the production line.

This move marks that the construction task of the heliostat field of the solar thermal power station is nearing completion, laying a solid foundation for the realization of the goal of the full-capacity grid connection of the power station in 2025.

As the equipment supplier of the concentrating and heat collecting system for the Bole Project, Hengji Nengmai has meticulously built an intelligent heliostat assembly workshop at the construction site of the solar thermal power station. Since the first heliostat successfully rolled off the production line, the heliostat manufacturing team of Hengji Nengmai, with continuously optimized process flows and close technical collaboration, has not only ensured the assembly accuracy at the millimeter level but also achieved an industry-leading mirror reflection efficiency, demonstrating Hengji Nengmai’s first-class technical strength in the field of solar thermal power generation.

The successful assembly and roll-off of the 10,000th heliostat mark that the construction of the solar thermal power station of the Bole Project has entered the final sprint stage. Looking ahead, Hengji Nengmai will work hand in hand with all participating parties to complete all engineering tasks with high quality and high standards, strictly control every link, ensure the accuracy and reliability of products, provide a solid guarantee for the timely realization of the goal of the full-capacity grid connection of the solar thermal power station, and contribute to the vigorous development of China’s new energy industry.

Project Introduction

The 100,000-kilowatt thermal energy storage solar thermal power project with a supporting 900,000-kilowatt new energy project of Xinhua Hydropower Co., Ltd. is located in Dalete Town, Bole City, Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and is developed and invested by Xinhua Botai (Bole) Power Investment Co., Ltd. The project covers a total area of 38,000 mu, with a total investment of 6.2 billion yuan, and was included in the list of the second batch of market-oriented grid-connected new energy projects in Xinjiang Autonomous Region on July 4, 2022.

In July 2023, Hengji Nengmai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. joined hands with Gansu Installation and Construction Group Co., Ltd. to win the bid for the PC general contracting of the 100,000-kilowatt thermal energy storage solar thermal power station in Bole, constructed by Xinhua Power Generation.
The 100,000-kilowatt thermal energy storage solar thermal power station adopts an advanced molten salt tower technology route, with a heliostat field area of 530,000 square meters and a thermal storage duration of 8 hours. Through the molten salt energy storage system, the solar thermal power station can still continuously output green electricity at night and on rainy and cloudy days. After the completion of the solar thermal power station, it is expected to generate 153.47 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

During the construction period of the Xinhua Power Generation Bole Grand Base Project, it can drive the employment of nearly 5,000 local people, injecting new vitality into the economic development of Bole City. After the project is put into operation, it can provide 2.04138 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to the power grid every year, saving about 622,400 tons of standard coal annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.6984 million tons, sulfur dioxide emissions by about 326.62 tons, nitrogen oxide emissions by about 365.41 tons, and soot emissions by about 65.32 tons every year, which will significantly improve the local environmental quality. The Xinhua Power Generation Bole Grand Base Project has good environmental, economic and social benefits, and makes a great contribution to the local economic development and environmental protection.
