Anduo County, located at the very end of the power grid corridor in northern Tibet, has an average altitude of over 5,000 meters. Recently, construction workers have been carrying out the basic construction work of a 100MW molten salt tower-type solar thermal power station. The total scale of the Tushuo solar thermal and photovoltaic integration project in Anduo County is 100MW solar thermal + 800MW photovoltaic, and it is expected to be connected to the grid for power generation in October 2026.

Liu Wenyan, the person in charge of safety management of the Tushuo solar thermal and photovoltaic integration project by Tibet Development and Investment Co., Ltd., said: After the power station is completed, it can achieve a continuous power generation capacity of 15 to 16 hours per day, and the daily electricity storage capacity can reach 800,000 kilowatt-hours. The power station has a certain capacity for grid peak regulation and capacity support, which will increase the power supply capacity of the power grid in northern Tibet by about 200,000 kilowatt-hours, alleviating the power rationing dilemma in northern Tibet during winter.

Make every effort to protect the plateau ecological environment and accelerate the construction of a green development mode. This year, Tibet will launch a pilot project for the development and trading of forest and grassland carbon sinks, establish agricultural industrialization consortia, develop smart agriculture and animal husbandry, and continue to save energy and reduce carbon emissions in key areas such as industry, urban and rural areas, transportation, and public institutions. By making full use of water, wind, solar and other resources, Tibet will develop the clean energy industry, accelerate the construction of a 1.2 million-kilowatt wind power project and a 750,000-kilowatt solar thermal project, strive to build a demonstration zone for a new type of power system and a demonstration zone for the utilization of clean and renewable energy, cultivate and strengthen emerging industries, and inject new growth momentum into the high-quality development of Tibet.
