Rebound Technologies secures funds to scale thermal energy storage

US thermal energy storage specialist Rebound Technologies Inc has secured a USD-2-million (EUR 1.69m) strategic investment from KCC Manufacturing to support the scale-up and deployment of its flagship IcePoint technology.

The funding will be used to advance manufacturing capacity and commercial rollout of Rebound’s IcePoint thermal energy storage systems, which allow users to produce and store cooling in advance and use it later, helping reduce electricity use during peak demand periods and easing pressure on the grid. The technology is designed for applications including data centres, food processing and district cooling infrastructure.

The investment builds on the two companies’ existing preferred manufacturing partnership. KCC Manufacturing has worked closely with Rebound through the early production phases of their thermal energy cooling system and supported manufacturing development.

KCC Manufacturing is a designer, developer and provider in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. It offers roof curbs, curb adapters and sheet metal products used with roof-mounted air conditioning equipment.
