On September 26, the People’s Government of Panshi City, Jilin Province, and Huantai Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the 100MW/500MWh grid-side energy storage project.
It is understood that Huantai Group plans to invest 1.15 billion yuan to construct a 100MW/500MWh vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) energy storage power station in Mingcheng Park of Panshi Economic Development Zone. The project covers an area of 30,000 square meters, adopts the vanadium redox flow battery technology route, with an installed capacity of 100MW and an energy storage capacity of 500MWh. Meanwhile, supporting facilities such as a step-up substation will also be built.
After the completion of the project, it will significantly enhance the peak shaving and frequency regulation capabilities of the regional power grid, provide strong support for ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power grid and promoting the efficient consumption of renewable energy, and contribute to the building of Jilin City into a national-level clean energy base.
