Recently, the 12MW/48MWh vanadium flow energy storage project of SPIC Shanghai Wujing Thermal Power Plant, undertaken by Shanghai Electric Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (“Electric Energy Storage”), has reached a key milestone – the on-site installation of equipment has been completed. This marks the project entering a new construction phase, fully demonstrating Electric Energy Storage’s large-scale production capacity and project delivery capability.

The Minhang Wujing Thermal Power Independent Energy Storage Power Station Project, planned and constructed by SPIC Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd., has an overall construction scale of 102MW/228MWh, resembling a super “treasure trove” of energy. Among them, the 12MW/48MWh system is a vanadium flow energy storage system, adopting a double-layer container structure that is cleverly integrated into the overall planning of the outdoor layout of prefabricated cabins. The Wujing Thermal Power Independent Energy Storage Power Station is a core component of Shanghai’s first batch of independent energy storage power station project construction plans for 2025. It bears the important responsibility of alleviating the electricity shortage in the Wujing area, providing solid power guarantees for the peak summer electricity demand period, and serving as a “stabilizer” for the stable power supply in the region.
The completion of on-site equipment installation is an important milestone in the project construction process, fully embodying the “Electric Energy Storage speed”. Subsequent work such as system commissioning will be carried out in an orderly manner to continue advancing the project. In the near future, once the Wujing Thermal Power Independent Energy Storage Power Station is officially put into operation, it will significantly enhance the stability and reliability of power supply in the Wujing area. During off-peak electricity periods, the energy storage system will store excess electricity; during peak periods, it will release electricity in a timely manner, effectively easing the contradiction between power supply and demand. Meanwhile, as Electric Energy Storage’s large-scale flow battery energy storage project in the Shanghai region, it will play an important strategic demonstration role, writing a vivid footnote for Electric Energy Storage to build a high ground in the new energy storage market.
