ENGIE has secured a 200 MW solar project paired with a 100 MW/600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in India. The project was awarded through a competitive bidding process conducted by the Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI).
This marks ENGIE’s first hybrid solar-plus-storage project in India. The company will develop the project on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, supplying power under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to be signed with SECI.
The latest win follows ENGIE securing its first standalone BESS project of 280 MW/560 MWh in November. ENGIE currently has nearly 2 GW of renewable assets in operation and under construction across India.

The project will now move into the next phase of development, including detailed engineering, procurement, and regulatory approvals, followed by construction. ENGIE will work closely with technology partners, suppliers, and relevant authorities to ensure timely and compliant execution.
