Qinghai Delingha 350 MW CSP Project Accelerates into Key Construction Stage

Located in the photovoltaic industrial park of Delingha, the project is making full use of favorable construction conditions by coordinating workforce and machinery while strengthening resource support, accelerating overall progress. At present, foundation excavation for the solar receiver towers is progressing steadily, and the project is about to move into an intensive construction stage, including the main structure of the receiver towers, civil works for the main power block, installation of molten salt storage tanks, and erection of heliostat field support structures.

At the construction site, activity is in full swing. Large cranes are operating at full stretch, while excavators and transport vehicles move continuously across the site. Reinforcement works and foundation excavation are being carried out in parallel, with construction personnel working in an orderly and efficient manner across all fronts.

The project is invested in and developed by Zhejiang Zhongguang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and constructed by Qinghai Zhongkong Solar Power Co., Ltd. With a total investment of approximately RMB 5.567 billion, the project adopts an innovative “three-tower, one-unit” configuration, in which three solar receiver towers operate collaboratively to supply heat to a single power generation unit. It is equipped with a long-duration thermal energy storage system capable of 14 hours of operation.

Upon completion, the project is expected to generate حوالي 985 million kWh of electricity annually, sufficient to meet the yearly power demand of approximately 500,000 households. It will also save about 295,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.53 million tons each year.
