This represents an increase of more than 40 times compared to the end of the &#8220;13th Five-Year Plan&#8221; period, marking a leapfrog development. The average energy storage duration stood at 2.58 hours, an increase of 0.30 hours from the end of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>North China and Northwest China were the primary growth regions, with newly added installed capacities of 21.88 GW and 19.66 GW, accounting for 35.2% and 31.6% of the national newly added capacity, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of single-site scale, the trend toward large-scale development of projects exceeding 100 MW (100 megawatts) is evident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding application scenarios, the proportion of independent energy storage has increased. In 2025, the newly added installed capacity reached 35.43 GW, bringing its cumulative installed capacity share to 51.2%, an increase of approximately 5 percentage points from the end of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the perspective of technological pathways, lithium-ion battery energy storage remains dominant, accounting for 96.1% of installed capacity.
