Notably, <strong>Tibet<\/strong> has emerged as a promising new growth area, with <strong>400 MW<\/strong> of CSP capacity under construction, second only to <strong>Xinjiang<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>1,150 MW<\/strong> and <strong>Qinghai<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>1,100 MW<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"508\" height=\"289\" src=\"https:\/\/en.esplaza.com.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/4c39b93b2f8d32523e203536d3139612.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/en.esplaza.com.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/4c39b93b2f8d32523e203536d3139612.png 508w, https:\/\/en.esplaza.com.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/4c39b93b2f8d32523e203536d3139612-300x171.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>To further accelerate the development of CSP, China unveiled a comprehensive policy roadmap in December 2025, targeting <strong>15 GW<\/strong> of installed capacity by <strong>2030<\/strong>, with costs expected to be broadly competitive with those of <strong>coal-fired power<\/strong>. This roadmap, jointly issued by the <strong>National Development and Reform Commission<\/strong> and the <strong>National Energy Administration<\/strong>, emphasizes the need for extensive project construction and the expansion of application scenarios to enable the large-scale deployment of solar thermal power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By 2030, China aims to develop the CSP sector into an internationally competitive new energy industry, characterized by globally leading technologies that are fully domestically controllable. The growth of the sector will be market-driven and industrialized, according to the roadmap. Over the years, China has made significant advancements in solar thermal technologies and built a leading industrial chain.
