World\u2019s highest-altitude CSP project completes steam drum hoisting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On April 19, the 100 MW tower-type concentrated solar power (CSP) project in Tuoshuo, Anduo County, developed by Xizang Development &amp; Investment (Tibet Development Investment), achieved a key construction milestone with the successful hoisting of its steam drum, a critical core equipment component. The project is the first tower-type CSP plant in Tibet and currently the highest-altitude CSP project in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"767\" src=\"https:\/\/en.esplaza.com.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/f2f69a3c22bd727d84c4c1a787860a99-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1762\" srcset=\"https:\/\/en.esplaza.com.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/f2f69a3c22bd727d84c4c1a787860a99-1024x767.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/en.esplaza.com.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/f2f69a3c22bd727d84c4c1a787860a99-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/en.esplaza.com.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/f2f69a3c22bd727d84c4c1a787860a99-768x575.jpg 768w, https:\/\/en.esplaza.com.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/f2f69a3c22bd727d84c4c1a787860a99.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This installation follows several previous major milestones, including generator stator installation and high-voltage module hoisting. The successful completion of the steam drum hoisting marks a significant breakthrough in the installation of key power-generation equipment, laying a solid foundation for subsequent system installation, commissioning, and on-schedule grid connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is a key energy initiative under China\u2019s 14th Five-Year Plan in the Tibet Autonomous Region. Located at an extreme altitude of 4,650 meters, it is the world\u2019s highest-altitude CSP project to date. The plant adopts molten-salt tower CSP technology and utilizes 16,000 heliostats (sun-tracking mirrors) to efficiently convert solar energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once completed, the project is expected to save approximately 60,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 165,000 tons annually.
