The two parties will leverage their respective technological and market strengths to establish a strategic partnership, jointly expanding application scenarios for aqueous organic flow batteries in Europe and exploring commercialization pathways for long-duration energy storage technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Headquartered in D\u00fcsseldorf, Uniper is a state-owned operator of major European utilities and large-scale natural gas infrastructure. Its business covers traditional power generation, energy storage, and energy trading. The partnership will provide Uniper with flexible and forward-looking grid-scale energy storage solutions, offering crucial technical support for building a renewable energy-centered power system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aqueous organic flow batteries use widely sourced organic molecules as electrochemically active substances dissolved in water. With a neutral pH and metal-free composition, they pose no pollution risk to the natural environment. The batteries feature intrinsic safety\u2014their electrolyte does not combust or explode when exposed to open flames\u2014and have a design lifespan of 25 years.
