AquaBattery and Sciven partner on LDES systems

AquaBattery, known for its sustainable saltwater-based flow battery technology, and Sciven, a provider of integrated sustainable tech solutions, have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for strategic collaboration on long-duration energy storage (LDES) systems.

The LOI initiates a partnership focused on accelerating AquaBattery’s LDES technology through joint pilot projects, technical validation, and integration into operational energy infrastructures.

“We are excited to formalise our collaboration with Sciven,” said Jiajun Cen, CEO of AquaBattery. “Their deep engineering expertise and strong market access complement our mission to provide safe, sustainable and scalable long duration energy storage solutions critical to the global energy transition.”

Under the agreement, AquaBattery and Sciven will evaluate pilot deployment opportunities, identify commercial and industrial use cases, and explore models for long-term partnership and growth.

“Sciven is committed to advancing next-generation energy technologies that support decarbonisation and grid resilience,” said Eduardo Costa, CEO of Sciven. “AquaBattery’s water-based, non-flammable, and circular storage technology is a promising solution for long-duration needs, and we look forward to exploring its potential together.”

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to decarbonisation and energy resilience, aligning with broader efforts to support the clean energy transition.
